Pre-Move Services
Mabey’s international moving service starts at your current home, where our professional packers will do all the work to get your household items ready for the long trip to a new country. This includes placing your belongings into strong, corrugated cardboard cartons that are thick enough to sustain the journey. We will core-craft wrap all furniture items using a special formula of non-abrasive but rigid bubble-encased paper, a proven technique for international shipping. Our crew will provide you with a full descriptive inventory of all items being relocated within your shipment to help ensure everything you pack arrives safely at your new home.
International Transportation Services
Once everything is packed and ready, the loading process begins. We will pack your items in one of two ways. For smaller loads, we will place items into wooden shipping containers measuring about 7 feet-by 7 feet-by 4 feet. If you have a larger home to move, we may place items directly into 20-foot or 40-foot steel ocean containers. We can even bring the containers to your current home to aid in the loading. Once loaded, we will transport your container(s) to the port of departure for loading onto a container ship or airplane.
Once they reach the destination port, your goods will need to go through customs clearance, which our international moving team will help facilitate. Once items are cleared, one of our vetted international moving crews will take over for the final leg of the journey.
The Finishing Touches
With customs clearance in hand, our partner international movers will begin reversing the process to transport, unload, and unpack items at your new destination. As an experienced and registered international mover (RIM), Mabey’s works with a network of reliable and vetted organizations worldwide. Our partners will use the inventory list we generated at the beginning of the process to unload, fully unpack, and account for all items shipped. We will also ensure that all boxes and debris from the move are disposed of properly.
