Going Green
Mabey's Moving and Storage is working on a green initiative to save energy at all of their capital area locations. They have replaced their old inefficient energy system with new high efficiency systems and will be saving over 100,000 kWh per year.
With the help of American Energy Care Inc. (AEC) which offers energy conservation services and NYSERDA, Mabey’s have improved their energy efficiency through energy conservation measures such as:
- New high efficiency lighting systems
- Energy efficient lighting controls
- New heating system that burns “waste oil”
- Web-based energy management to control heating and cooling.
- Solar Electric (photovoltaic) system
The new systems will provide for a more efficient operation and make all of the locations more comfortable. As the goal was to have - “Greener” facilities - the project focused on a balance of conservation and renewable energy while improving comfort and operational efficiencies.
